Self-Publishing & Editing Services
So you've written your novel, your book of poems, or your collection of short stories, and you want to see it in print. With a glossy cover and all the blurb about you. Of course you do.
Getting a book published through a reputable publisher can be something of a minefield. It's what most new or would-be writers want, but few, if any, publishers will accept your manuscript directly, and most will advise you to go through an agent. And that's often the right thing to do, although it can take time.
But what if you simply want to have your work printed for yourself? Your family? Friends? Colleagues? What if you don't want to make the changes that an agent, or a publisher, may insist on?
I decided to self-publish the book my husband had written. It was something he had worked on some years previously and it seemed a shame that there was no permanent record of all his work, apart from some yellowing sheets of paper.
Once that was done, I published the novel I had spent a year writing. It took time, but I managed to navigate my way through it. And now I feel I can help other people to publish their works too. Anyone can do it themselves, of course. But if you don't have the time, or the patience; if you want someone else to proof-read and edit your work, then I can help.
I can format it for you, use the cover picture of your choice or find one for you; I will send you proof copies until you are satisfied with it. Then I will publish it under the name AC Publishing (Awduresau Cymru Publishing) via Kindle Direct Publishing, where your book will be made available for sale on the Amazon website at a price of your choice*. You will receive royalties through me. If you wish your work to be offered as an eBook through Kindle, I can do that too, with no extra charge.
* A minimum price will be set be Amazon
My fees are listed below.

Proofread, Edit, Amend & Publish
We will take your manuscript just as you send it to us, along with any title, blurb and your preferred cover picture, and any illustrations or photographs. We will check it for possible libellous content, and offer advice as to wording and layout changes. We will thoroughly proofread your manuscript for spelling and grammatical errors, and if necessary we will send you a suggested amended version for your approval. You will need to check the amended version carefully, as some writing, especially dialogue, may be colloquial, idiomatic, slang etc, and we will rely on you to tell us this. You may not wish to accept the amended version, and that is entirely your choice.
We will send you a printed proof copy for you to approve before the final publication. If you want to make changes right up to that point, we can do that. We would make a small charge for further proof copies.*
The following are all included:
Cover design: we will offer you a choice of photographs and/or designs from which you may choose a cover. Alternatively we will use a picture you send us, providing it is suitable.
Transposing from Longhand
In addition to the services above, we can transpose your manuscript from long-hand to a typewritten version. The fee for this will depend on the number of pages/words and the level of clarity in the handwritten text.
A Draft Publishing Agreement is available on request.
